Located on Charterhouse Street right opposite Smithfield meat market, Comptoir Gascon is a gourmet bistro and delicatessen specialises in food and wine exclusively sourced from South West of France.
One of the first gourmet shops based in East London, it opened its door in February 2001 by the team behind Club Gascon: Vincent Labeyrie and Pascal Aussignac. Originally a deli-bakery it was then transformed to become a bistro-deli in 2005.
Since its opening, Comptoir Gascon has been a relaxed and cosy dining retreat highlighting the real flavours from south west France - a food lover’s delight.
Award-winning duck fat French fries, the famous piggy treats or the indulgent duck burger are legendary favourites on the menu. Other regional creations include grilled squids Basquaise, garlic & mixed herbs, traditional cassoulet Toulousain or gascony pie & mushroom sauce...
The wine list has been chosen to enhance the seasonal and regional food beautifully cooked by the chefs: a list of over 60 different wines including about 15 by the glass.
In 2012, Comptoir Gascon has been officially appointed Home of South West France Wines in London. Every week, guests are invited to come and sample a range of South West France wines selected by The Wine Gang, for free, when having lunch or dinner.
