Last weekend’s Taste of Christmas event (2-4 December) saw a record number of visitors head to London’s ExCeL for the biggest show in the events history. Over 30,000 visitors enjoyed the three day event (up 15 per cent from 2010), with visitor spend up across the event and restaurants seeing a 30 per cent average growth in revenue.

Encouraging sales and positive feedback, have positioned Taste of Christmas as the best Christmas event in the UK, with over half of the exhibitors rebooking space for next year’s event, which is planned for 30 November – 2 December 2012 and will cater for up to 35,000 visitors.

Vicky Bodhani, show manager at Taste of Christmas says: “We are delighted to have bucked the trend with growth in ticket sales, exhibitor numbers and consumer spend. We couldn’t be happier that in the current climate Taste of Christmas has delivered its most successful event to date, which puts us in a very exciting position for 2012.”

Exhibitors, Melissa McMinn of Taylors of Harrogate comments on the quality of visitors at the show: “Taste of Christmas delivered a first class day out for consumers. This meant we were communicating with premium visitors, who were perfect for our brand. The fit between Taylors Coffee and Taste of Christmas was ideal and we felt that the event was a triumph.”

Michelin starred chefs dominated the line up at the AEG and Peugeot demonstration theatres including award winning chef, Michel Roux Jr: ‘Taste of Christmas is the perfect place for passionate foodies to get inspiration and enjoy a festive gastronomic heaven’.
