Michel Roux Jr
Restaurant: Le Gavroche, Roux at The Landau
Michel grew up at Le Gavroche when the restaurant was earning its fantastic reputation, and has played a key role in its enduring success. After deciding to follow his father's footsteps, Michel gained an apprenticeship in Paris at Maitre Patissier, Hellegouarche from 1976 and 1979. Between 1979 and 1980 he was Commis de Cuisine at Le Gavroche and held the same position at Mionay, Lyon, under the legendary Alain Chapel, Michel's biggest influence.
In 2010, Michel worked with Restaurant Associates to open Roux at Parliament Square in the Grade II listed Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors building. His latest restaurant is Roux at The Landau at London's Langham Hotel.
